Jack=Found: A Reflection

This week I met with a young lady named Jill to discuss what she knew about Jack. She was incredibly helpful and with the help of her clues I was able to finally meet with Jack. I recorded our conversation to share with Bond to finally uncover what had happened.

Upon reflection, I decided to put photographs of my story on flickr to capture how I began this search, where it lead me, and finally how it ended.

And with that, we now know Jack. And it’s the end of one more week.

Meeting with Jill and then Jack

On Sunday night, I met with Jill. She was an interesting character to say the least. I can’t reveal too much about her right now however to protect her identity. She met with me for coffee and explained they key thing I needed: where to find Jack.

I began my search to find Jack’s home. He was a little difficult to find at first, however, it worked out in the end. After wandering the streets following the various clues Jill had given me, I finally made my way to Jack’s home. After peaking around the home, Jack discovered me. However, I was able to ask the hard questions and finally uncover what I really needed.

What Jack didn’t realize was that his conversation was recorded… coming soon!

Cracking Open Jack’s Case: A Reflection

This week I focused on working on my case. I was assigned “You don’t know Jack.” This case is focused around helping Bond find out who this mysterious Jack character is.

I initially started out the week a little late due to personal conflicts. When I did get started I put out a poster asking for any information anyone had about Jack. I posted this on twitter and finally got a response from Jill. I will be meeting with her tonight to begin to unravel this mystery.

I also considered Burtis’ role in this whole matter. Bond was obviously concerned. But from what evidence I have seen, I am suspicious of Burtis but do not necessarily believe she is key in uncovering the mystery of Jack’s identity.

Finally made contact with Jill

Just this evening, a strange young woman named Jill made contact with me. She claimed to have some information on this Jack fellow. However, for protection of her she’s asked to meet in private. I plan to meet with her later this evening to find out all I can. Hopefully, I will be able to make contact and really progress forward in this Jack case.

I am eager to meet with Jill and hope she will provide useful insight in breaking through with the Jack case.

I have also been reviewing Burtis’ role, as Bond seems to be particularly suspicious of her. When I listened to the supposed call from her grandma, it seemed off. First, the level of disrespect was unbelievable. Also unbelievable was the voice used by the grandma. I suspect Burtis used her extensive background in Audacity to make a fake phone call. However, I do not necessarily believe that it was Jack who she made contact with. She’s hiding something but, I’m unsure what it is quite yet.

I don’t know Jack?

This week, I registered the Aconitum.Napellus for some sort of case. I figured it would be a good way to get the word out and build up my portfolio further. Soon after, I got a response from Martha Burtis. She said Bond was interested in getting further information about Jack. It’s been a long week already. A friend passed away suddenly and I had to report a pair of students for dishonest behavior. Unfortunately, these issues took priority for most of this week.

I finally made time to watch Bond’s video tonight. Countless things have gone on at his agency involving the … However,  someone who has nearly flown under the radar is some strange person named Jack. He appears to be somehow connected to all the strange occurrences in the last few months. Black had met with Jack and didn’t seem quite the same after; Jota was also contacted by Jack; Martha Burtis appeared to act very strange whenever he came up and also participated in a strange phone call. My first goal is to find out who Jack is so it may be possible to contact him and uncover what his role is.

Here we go again: A Reflection

This week felt almost like a reset. I began work to set up a brand new webpage for my agency. The webpage with all required (and some bonus pages) can be found here.

I completed 10.5 stars worth of assignments. I did 6 stars of web assignments (My Resume for 3 stars and How It All Began for 3 stars). I did 4.5 stars worth of design assignments and created a logo for my agency.

I also completed 2 daily creates: Saving Noddy and Umbrella photography.

I kept up with the work others were completing. I took a peak at Sylvia’s pinterest, Sylvia’s resume, Isabelle McIntosh’s storify, Isabelle McIntosh’s resume, Damon’s agency’s pinterest board, Sarah’s news article, Margaret’s license plate for her agency, Gambino De Luca’s webpage, Stirrup’s Wanted Poster, and detective Long’s resume.

And with that the week is finished!

Creating a Logo

I also made time to create a logo from Aconitum.Napellus this week. I drew inspiration from a ds106 design assignment, The Ultimate Merger (which is rated at 4.5 stars). I chose to use Fisher Scientific’s logo set up, seen below:

I mimicked the fonts and colors to create my own logo for Aconitum.Napellus. All work was done in a word document so that I could compare the sizes and styles of the fonts as well as have proper alignment. The final image was saved as a screenshot. I plan to use this image throughout my webpage, and it is currently featured on The Mission Statement page.

My resume

I decided to add my resume to my webpage. It can be found under the staff page. I drew inspiration to upload my resume from the ds106 web assignment: character resume (which is rated at 3 stars). The resume is really rather self-explanatory. It describes my previous work and education experience. I’ve mostly worked in industry. For a couple years I chose to teach high school which turned out to be a horrible decision which is why I only taught for two years. My education is not as extensive as I wish it could be but my years of experience in the science industry make up for that.

Here is the resume, if you’d like a copy: Isabelle Franklin_Resume

Creation of Aconitum.Napellus

This week I began to set up my agency’s presence on the internet. So far, I have created a homepage, a staffpage, a page to contact us, a page containing my portfolio, a page for my blog, a page outlining our mission statement, and a page describing how the agency began. Visit the page here.

While right now, it may appear a little bland, I plan to continue to work on it over the next few weeks to add more content and create more interest in the page itself.
